Wood BOE meets Tuesday in Williamstown
WILLIAMSTOWN - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, in regular session at Williamstown Middle High School.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be streamed online. The meeting is open to the public.
The board will receive a presentation on the proposed 2024-25 school calendar by Heather Grant, Director of Elementary Education, and will hold the second and final public calendar hearing. Two draft calendars have been available for review and comment for the past month, and the board is expected to approve a final calendar at Tuesday’s meeting.
The board will hold recognitions for the Williamstown High School Football Team, winners of the 2023 Class A State Football Championship; the Williamstown High School Volleyball Team, winners of the 2023 Class A State Volleyball Championship; and students at Williamstown Middle High School and Jackson Middle School for completing i-Ready Math and/or Reading lessons.
The board will receive a transportation update from Transportation Director Chad Bloss.
The board also will receive information on the district’s upcoming Open Enrollment period from Justin Hartshorn, Assistant Superintendent of Academics and Leadership, and Eric Murphy, Technology Integration Specialist.
In addition to financial and personnel matters, the board will consider two employee disciplinary actions.
