Prom is this Saturday, May 7th from 7-10pm in the Field House. Prom line up will begin at 6pm in the horseshoe. The line will wrap around the north end of the school (right side facing) and back into the back lot. Before your name is read, students will be given a note card and pen for them, and their date to write down their name. Upon reading of the names, students can have their moment on the front step to get their picture taken. Once in the Field House, students must have both their ID and ticket to get in; if you do not have both, your admittance will be denied. DO NOT bring anything with you such as backpacks or large purses. A small wallet will be allowed but you must carry it at all times, and it will be searched before entering. Once we acknowledge you can enter you will be given an additional form of identification that you must wear for the remainder of prom so we can help identify who belongs there and who does not. You will be allowed to leave prom at any time from the Field House, but once you leave there is no re-entry into the prom. The horseshoe for that evening will be shut down and we will not allow any parking for lineup unless you bought VIP parking. Parents are more than welcome to take pictures and enjoy the front campus for prom lineup. The weather is expected to be nice for Saturday’s prom. If the weather changes, I will notify you of further directions. If you have any questions about anything I just mentioned, please contact the main office. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

The Parkersburg High School Foundation is participating in the 2022 Give Local MOV campaign today. This is an opportunity for many local organizations to receive donations matched by generous donations from local individuals and businesses. The Parkersburg High School Foundation has an opportunity to receive an additional $3500 in matching funds, but we need YOUR help! One of the matching funds requires 100 people to donate. Can you take time sometime before midnight and donate a minimum of $10? Donate by going here: https://www.givelocalmov.org/organizations/parkersburg-high-school-foundation The money that we receive will all go back to PHS in teacher grants, capital improvements, scholarships, and other ways that work to enhance our school. Since its inception in 1988, the Foundation has given over $500,000 to PHS. We are proud of our school and all the teachers and students who help continue the tradition of excellence. Thank you for all you do for our students and our community. We appreciate what you do and are thankful for your consideration in helping to raise additional funds for Parkersburg High School. The PHS Foundation

This message is for all Juniors and parents of Juniors. Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 13, all Juniors will take the SAT as their state assessment. This is a requirement for all Juniors and is a necessary component to measure their overall academic levels. All Juniors need to be in their assigned classrooms by 8am; DO NOT BE LATE! Classroom assignments have been posted throughout the first floor of the building, the front and back hallway, and in the cafeteria. Upon entering for testing, each Junior will receive a drawing ticket that will allow them to be considered for prize drawings later that afternoon in the Field House. We have about $1300 in prizes to give away just for being on time and showing up. You must be present to win and in order to be able to win you must have a ticket; which means you must be on time! Please get a good nights rest so you can perform your best. No electronic devices will be allowed during testing; this includes smart devices of any kind. All Juniors will attend the same lunch after testing is over. Juniors who have classes at the Tech or Caperton Center tomorrow, will not attend and you will be excused. Juniors parents do not plan on picking up your student during testing because we cannot interrupt testing in process. Good luck tomorrow!

Attention Seniors and Senior parents!! PHS is off limits for any water assassin related activity 24hrs a day 7 days a week. This is not a school sponsored activity in anyway. Also, anyone caught playing water assassins during school time will be reprimanded even if it is going to tech center or Caperton. School time and county property at any time are off limits. It is going to take someone to get seriously hurt for this to be shut down. I encourage you all to stop participating. Law enforcement is highly on the look out for those playing with repercussions in mind. Any questions, please call OFFICER BELL at PHS or your local Law Enforcement. The following are articles from the internet about the dangers or water assassins. Teachers please read and share the info. http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/1388463 http://www.cbsnews.com/news/high-school-assassins-water-gun-game-could-bring-charges/ Sincerely, KD

Parents and students- No student is to be in the back parking lot for ANY reason at ANYTIME during the school day. We now have the community health center in the annex which means there will be the public traffic coming onto campus. In order to keep our students safe they should only be in the back lot if the are parking back there with a permit and arriving/leaving school based upon their schedule. Any student found out in the lot will be reprimanded. Parents please let your student know!
